TRAFFIC New York Extended Online Domain Auction

Opened: September 25, 7:00 a.m. ET (4 a.m. PT)

Closing: Thursday, October 2, 3:15 p.m. ET (12:15 p.m. PT)

To view the auction: http://www.snapnames.com/?ig=5

Some names have bids already, but remember those may be people who bid years ago. I still haven't figured out why Snapnames keeps those records and attaches them to names now. I can only see that that may scare off possible bidders now if they think there is a bidding war going.

As far as I know, there is no way to determine current bid(s) or the amount of bids on any given name. And unlike eBay, the reserves are visible...

My guess is that if a potential bidder puts the name on their watch list...the name shows that there is a bidder.

I saw some of the names with bids but they should reveal the current bid amounts!

There is no option to list your names from your account with current bids?

Im seeing some names with minimum bids at around $1mill or something and it shows 3-4 bids by it. Does that mean there are already 3-4 bids above the $1mill reserve mark or close to the $1mill mark so the next bid is $1mill? Not really sure how this is working out. Anyone know how it works? thanks

I logged into my account and I can only see the minimum bids and the number of bidders. There is no details what the current bid is. The old system shows all the info but not the new one.

I tried to put a WATCH on my own domains but it wouldn't let me. And it also still shows the bids from past auctions.

I don't remember the old system showing the current bid for Silent. Perhaps when someone actually bids the minimum, it automatically goes up???

I'm not sure if there is a way to determine if ANY domain has a CURRENT bid??? I have two domains I'm interested in, one has "2 bidders" already according to the screen. I'm going to pass on the one with two bidders because I don't know if I'm really bidding against someone.

Snapnames or Moniker -- Please weigh in on this. Your foot must hurt from the bullet you shot yourself with.

What does the number next to the name represent?

1) Total bids received since the dawn of mankind, including drops, previous auction bids and probably something else. In other words, they are historical and there is likely no present bids since most Silent (Extended) bids aren't made before the last day of the auction.
2) No. See answer above. It's a crapshoot at best.
3) Goodbye.

What a disaster!

I show 3 bids and the minimum bid amount. Does this mean the bidding is up to the minimum amount? Probably not :)
