one of my customers (through enom pdq) is trying to transfer his domain to his enom account. However, the other registar, where its currently registered, is messing him around big time. They keep saying that they havent got the transfer request email yet - and said that it could have been lost as spam.
I told my customer to tell them to simply change the admin and technical contact info to his details - as they should have done at the start. He said that they had already requested this but 'She
has to send a request to the registrar, and they charge high fees for
such changes.'.
Its an absolute joke. Heres what my customer just wrote to me there (ive removed names as i dont want to jepordise the transfer in any way)
$99 to change the contact details to the guy that actually owns the domain. Is this even legal? Surely you cant do this?
anyone else had this sort of problem before with cowboy registars?
any help would be grateful

They go by the names FIDPAC and super.nu, and seem to be a Tucows
reseller.
When we asked them to change the contact details and DNS settings, they
wanted $99. We then decided to transfer the registration away from them.
For that, we had to pay $25 for them to remove the lock on the domain.
The situation is that PERSON1 and PERSON2 have a business
relationship. have a business
relationship. PERSON2 originally registered domainname.com on her
account with super.nu/FIDPAC. Their business relationship has changed,
so PERSON1 needs direct control of his domain and web site. I am assisting
PERSON1 with the transfer, since he doesn't understand any of the
technical issues.
