Domain Name Services: Accredited by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in April 1999, Tucows is the largest wholesale domain name registrar in the world, offering domain name services for generic top-level domains (gTLDs) including .com, .net and .org, .info, .biz and .name; and country code top-level domains (ccTLDs) such as .us, .de, .cn, .ca and .uk.

Good reputation and superb phone support with rare hold times. However also high priced what with the best reseller wholesale price being $9.75. Since that is so high their many resellers must charge more to make profit, often about $12 to $15 or more.

Control panel is very basic, with some bulk features seriously lacking, such as bulk locks and bulk auto renewals where each one needs to be done seperately :-(

Tucows uses a reseller model, although one can become one's own reseller to manage a personal portfolio.

Tucows has excellent staff and support. They're not the cheapest, at $10/yr per domain wholesale, but if safety of your most valuable domains is paramount, they're one of the best. They've been around for years, and remain one of the largest and most trusted registrars. They participate actively on all ICANN issues, too.

Definately not the cheapest but has very competent support staff and is one of the safest choices for valuable domains.
