.tv is running a 30% off promotions, making it even cheaper than RegisterFly's $37.99. I still have to convince myself to register my first .tv domain name, but for those who are into that, this is the time. This offer is good for the so-called "Premium" names and renewals and is good on top of any multi-year discount. No bad, I would say. Not for the disbelievers though.

Sorry, I do not see any .tv-related product on your website; and by 50% off, do you mean you are able to register a .tv domain for $25?

I agree. I'd rather pay $9 for a .com or .net than pay $25-$35 for any .TV. Someone is living large in Tuvalu, though I doubt as large as they were a couple of years ago. Good Luck.

.tv is very tricky for the speculator. In theory there is nothing for the speculator in .tv since the prime names are priced with little left on the tabe. I mean $1,000,000 a year for sex.tv (it sold!) etc.

But reality is different. No pricing model is perfect and the opportunites abound both in the $50 basic and $100 "premium" registrations. One thing to watch is that a name can suddenly drop from premium to basic overnight.

One can find names that have both high Wordtracker (Overture) search and google for the basic reg fee. Take for example

movietrailers.tv and movie-trailers.tv I picked these up last summer.

Wordtracker predicts over 7100 searchs a day for "movie trailers" and google shows 247000 results for movie trailers with the quotes. Try to find that in .com!

I say give a quality .tv 4 - 5 years and you will be pleasantly surprised. But if you are looking for a quick flip it will not work.

Btw - they have quite a number of premium domains that you can make them an offer for *although* they have a price tag on it.
As in "negotiable".

I agree, very high maintenance ... tsk. I have one domain that would like to register $2700 /yr... too much...
