Hi,

I would appreciate some advice in relation to type in traffic. Let's say for instance that I have a word / keyword term in a language such as German for example. In terms of type in traffic, would it be better to have the domain name registered with the native ccTLD (.de in the case of Germany), or the gTLD of .com? If we stick with Germany, are there any experts in the German domain name market - such as ccTLD vs gTLD market share statistics?

Thanks.

It all depends on the market, the keyword, and your prospective clients.

Germany is big on .de domains so you most likely would be better off with German word .de domains as opposed to .com but if the country doesn't push it's ccTLD well and many people there still use the global TLDs then you'll be better off with them.

But - if you're promoting a site for people in Belgum who speak German (say travel to Germany for them) then you may be better off with a .be domain.

Just ask - what would your target client / visitor be more likely to type into a browser?

But - if you want to be 100% sure get both, .de and .com :)
