which is better? a typo of a name, or a true misspelling?

true misspelling of a generic non TM name is best

no they are different-

buythedotcom-
so even on the same name, if it had a true misspelling, that would go for more than a solid typo?

"Amature" is a mis-spelling (spelt correctly) :D

A typo is "WeByuThe.com"

a typo is like:

britnetspears.com- accidentally hits the wrong key-

a mis spelling would be brittneyspears.com

spelled wrong but a common mispelling-

there are lots of mispells that are not typos- but the word mispells them on a regular basis-

here is a PERFECT one:

expresso- the WRONG spelling but gets 11,400,000 google pages!!!!!!!!!!
the right spelling is espresso 46,600,000 for "espresso"

Here's another example for a typo of "Owned"

Results 1 - 10 of about 316,000,000 for owned
Results 1 - 10 of about 2,890,000 for pwned (P next to the O key)

and a misspell of foreclosure
Results 1 - 10 of about 1,870,000 for foreclosure
Results 1 - 10 of about 1,050,000 for forclosure

Hey now, "pwned" is not a typo but a whole different story altogether: it's slang/game speak for "owned".

Acroplex is right. This comparison is not relevant. Interesting story about pwned. I think it's in the urban dictionary, check it.

Good question though, mispellings are intentional mistakes, typos are unintentional mistakes. If you follow what I mean.
