I wanted to share this with others.
on November 25th last week I surprisingly received an email that I was the new owner of uBuy dot com. in early 2004 while playing around with drops I tried out a backordering service on a GoDaddy reseller site and paid the $18 to backorder the name. I had completely forgotten about it as I knew there was a very slim chance of it ever working because of all the drop catchers these days and it being a premium name.
Does anyone here know the story behind this name? I have been after it for about 6 years since I also own the .net and sent numerous emails to the previous owner with no replies. I know they were a publicly traded company at one point and there were a few others trying to contact them as well.
It finally hit me of how lucky I really got with this. There must have a been a very very slim chance of this ever happening.
Any ideas you guys have for the name also let me know. I have already received 5 unsolicited offers on the name through whois but I would preferrably like to find a codeveloper and have this developed.
