One of the country's most senior police chiefs has said his officers spend just six minutes out of every hour actually fighting crime.

It's really sad that those comments are once again funding-motivated.

But I guess most people are more than happy to live a neighbourhood where their police officers have nothing to do but writing parking tickets, while some cities have special forces just for that.

Recent experience in my immediate community had 4 "999" calls (911) ignored by a civilian call-centre operative and a total no-response to a vehicle theft and theft from another vehicle.
UK stats showed that in 2002 10,000 burglars were imprisoned whereas 15,000 motorists were imprisoned - the UK definitely has a policing problem currently.

Political correctness is a social evil which we can well do without - trouble is no one has the guts to attempt to destroy it. Result - social meltdown.
