I updated my mailing address on GoDaddy, and the 60-day lock is only half over. No, there was no notification prior.
I've still been able to sell domains during this time (through Sedo) doing a push. Someone informed me elsewhere on DNForum that, in the event a transfer is needed, a complaint can make it happen; but I haven't tested that myself.
If you expect people to contact you by phone and think that's a worthwhile thing to have, you might want to update the information anyway. If I were a buyer, I doubt I'd cancel a sale simply because the domain would have to remain registered at GoDaddy for less than 60 days. Most buyers are more familiar with GoDaddy than any other registrars anyway. Maybe someone else can see a bigger disadvantage. (That's not to say the registrar lock isn't annoying.)
