Because, unfortunately, dial up is older technology.

This domain would have been more valuable in the 90s.

Many people have high speed or high speed lite and some countries have even faster speeds than what we have in North America.

Some people still are, as rare as such cases might be.

Also, consider the contradictory nature of the use of this name... if you're on the internet, you already have internet service. So why would you be looking for the internet... on the internet?

Even if you were, broadband is so cheap nowadays that the ~$20 you'd save on dialup per month just isn't worth thinking about.

Maybe someone would like a free dialup account in case their dsl goes down? Or they are traveling and don't have an aircard for their laptop, or no service on their phone. Agreed, most people wouldn't want to pay a monthly fee for a dial up account, at least in the U.S., but to have a free dial up account available for emergencies could be useful.

Edit: Netzero has an affiliate program at cj. Build a one page site & push them.

Low $xx from me.

Well, if it's all free, then where's the monetization structure? Obviously the way to make money with a free offer such as the one that this name would promote is to offer it for free at first, and then charge a monthly fee, but if this is just a temporary solution for someone, whoever is funding this in hopes of making money can't expect to get paying users coming his way.

Just curious, how much per lead/sale/etc. is the Netzero program at CJ paying?

The market does not support the investment.

Dial up even in developing countries is minimal as the market is shifting to mobile access.

Excellent point. The infrastructure for dial-up, i.e. landlines, is a technology going by the wayside, and need not be perpetuated when faster, cheaper, and easier to use technology is at the ready, such being wireless broadband, which most people have on their phones anyway.

Can you please explain why you think the domain is worthless? With 264,000 exact search results, how can it be worth $0?
No one should have to validate their opinion on this name.

Haven't you heard? Dialup is going to become obsolete. This is why he wants an appraisal fast, so he can sell the name off before it goes the way of the 8-bit Atari and the BBS.

Somehow, I have a feeling we're a little late to be coming to this conclusion.

Exact search results is an insignificant measure of value. Exact searches and search trends matter. Google adwords keyword tool global monthly search volume exact match for "free internet dial up" is 210. "Free internet dialup" is 73. Those are weak numbers. Few people are directly navigating or searching "free internet dial up" and Google Trends shows a steady march towards zero.
