Has anybody taken any notice of Afternic URLy indicator thing for Friday August 2nd.

We are delisting names and clearing out the basement!
But it's still free to re-list names ... ' AND' ....

' WE'RE STILL HOLDING THE LINE AGAINST' ...
" FUTURE LISTING FEES"

Does that tell you somthing.

I saw that too Americar. As time goes on, they will start to hint and complain (do they want cheese with their whine) that they are going to take the lead from what the current trend. They will then start to get more direct that they are going to charge for listing - but this was the intro to plant the seed that they are considering it and listing fees are possibility.

Not that they have any followers left, but they are driving the rest of them away.

Also, notice how in the last few months they have cut out all articles? The URLy used to be cool with all kinds of info and articles. Now? Just the intro and advertisements.

I lost confidence in them about 1-1/2 years ago. I look at the URLy to merely see how they are cutting their throat this time.

I would not throw the AN towel in quite yet.

To think that Register.com is going to let everything AN dissolve, or that their success depends on a few hundred dn resellers is quazy.

If EBay can charge what they do for a dn auction and continue to draw dreamers, AN can to it too. All that they need is a good plan.

I don't care.
Their site is not worth a visit anymore.

Their service? Everyone of us here knows...

I did notice the last urly indicator I received did not contain names belonging to any of their members - it was just one big advert for their .ec's.

Afternic are the biggest joke in the domain universe imo.

They try to get money from other sources.
Somehow they are moving to the wrong direction.
This shows their lack of knowledge about our world.

The so-called .ec landrush seems like an unwanted junk sales to me.

for sure, they've moved into an area where they don't really need member to make money - the virtual broker with escrow.com admin, the ppc links on the parked pages, the .ec milking etc

shows nothing but contempt for their userbase - but considering register.com has written off their purchase of afternic.com against tax - what else could we expect?

If this keeps up... one day they may get an e-mail from the Security and Exchange Commission or the NASDAQ...

"_____________
Chief Financial Officer

Dear ___________:

We are cleaning out our basement and delisting stocks on the NASDAQ with a trading value below $2. Your stock has a value under $2 and has had no trading activity. We are not charging for listing on the NASDAQ at this time, however unless you are either bought out or pay.... etc etc."
