I would be interested to know how popular .us tld actually is and whether they sell many of them ?.

i had hard time trying to sell one word footballers.us for 100$ - so my answer is no

I was in the States over the holidays, and since I'm always looking for domains, I can't remember seeing any .us. And I was looking in travel brochures, local real estate flyers, newspapers, etc. I don't see .us getting used much. In Canada, if you were looking at the same type of media, you'd see .ca domains being used everywhere. Hopefully for .us holders Americans will adopt .us to the extent .ca is in Canada.
