any thoughts on value for

U-K.us (the next best thing to UK, a British/US portal?)
you can't get two character, so this is the nearest to UK but with the dash between U and K.
jap.us (a Japanese/US site?)
eire.us (another way to say Ireland, maybe a site for ex-pats now living in the US)
new-media.us (how much does the dash make it lose?)
schmuck.us (a joke site?)

jap.us - Should be $1K - $2K today, however, it's value lies in the acronym use. Yahoo search results 781K for JAP.

All the hyphenated names are $0.

erie.us - worth very little now. .US overall reg numbers should be over 1 million before you get much interest in erie.us.

schmuck.us is as good a name as "jackass", so do something creative with it. I'd say worth $500 today, but the problem is you might have to spend lots of hours marketing it, so you'd be working cheap.

Some of them are nice. Jap is probly the only one worth over reg fee. I hate hyphens.

I would agree that all of the hyphenated .us names are $0. Don't really see much value in the others either. Jap is a derogatory term toward Japanese so I can't see any business entity using that name. I wouldn't want to use it personally either. I would avoid any .US with a reference to other countries - they just don't fit. There are lots of good .US names out there, so need to take hyphenated names either. Glad you are interested in the extension though. Good luck.

JAP also stands for Jewish American Princess - which some folks use as a term of affection as well as a sarcastic term :)

Maybe a rich JAP would want to buy it???

Just out of interest, why is everyone so anti hyphens???? Has anyone sold a domain with a hyphen and got a decent return?

Jap is still considered derogatory in my opinion.
