Hi,

I really like this forum... nice layout, easy-to-use! Did you install vBulletin yourself, and if so, was it easy-to-install. Also... how about making modifications and stuff... Is that easy?

Thanks,

Doug

Yes, overall vbulletin is really quite freindly to install modify :)

I installed vBulletin myself, and I won't consider myself an expert at this sort of stuff. It runs an install script which creates all necessary tables, etc. And for the customizing, all you'd need to do is read vBulletin's manual, it explain's everything in detail (actually, I never read it, and got the site looking like this so far ;) ). As for the modifications, do you mean like 3rd party addons ( www.vbulletin.org ) which add extra features? If so, yes, vbulletin basically is quite cool, and if you ever run into a problem, they have a nice support staff. :)

Indeed, they have the best installer I have seen so far for scripts.

that's why it cost you $160, you can have those 'easy install' features, support, etc.. ;)

hope it was free tough  , so I can get one for my site.

I think he meant he hoped it was free, so he could use it on his site.

vB is really worth every penny.

I often don't bother to go back to forum sites that are running free software, as it's just so clumsy to read what I have not yet read since my last visit. vB makes this trivial.

I run vB on two forum sites and it's so easy to administer and update it's really a non-issue.

...also, let's not forget that vB3 is coming out Q2 of this year, so I just can't wait!:D
