An arbitrator with the National Arbitration Forum has recently awarded four Verizon-related domain names to Verizon.
The company submitted the complaint on November 7, 2014.
The four disputed domain names are:
Verizonindycarseries.com
Verizonindycarseries.info
Verizonindycarseries.net
Verizonindycarseries.org.

According to whois records, the domain name was first registered in November,2014.

Verizon owns many trademark registrations for the "Verizon" mark all over the world. Therefore,it is more than obvious that the disputed domain names are confusingly similar with its trademark.
Moreover, the company contended in the complaint that the respondent has no rights or legitimate interests in the disputed domain names and that the respondent registered and used the disputed domain names in bad faith.

These cases are no-brainers since they used Verizon, definitely a TM. It was a created term, made up by the former NYNEX so I don't see anyone being able to use it fairly. It's not a dictionary word, geo location, proper name (person), etc so VerizonIndyCarSeries is a blatant violation of their TM. Having said that, Verizon can be overzealous in pursuing TM rights, in fact they're ruthless. There was news all over when they sued the old Parked.com for parking domains that infringed on their TM according to VZ. And even if your legitimate domain contains VZ (as part of a name you may have crated in good faith) they will raise hell. VZ is the stock symbol for their co but they cannot win every case where those two letters appearing together. Such cases may involve people's names and that's how they're spelled, a city somewhere or a real domain someone silly may have regged like BobbyLuvzSue, who's to say they meant anything other than what the term says, plus LUVZ could be a legitimate brand at some point and even a TM
