I received an email today from verisign saying that I had requested them to transfer my domain name from the current registrar to their name server. The mail also mentions that the registrant would be a different person (who i don't know!!) once the transfer is effected. Interestingly, I never asked them for the transfer.... :confused: ..moreover why would I want to transfer in somebody else's name who I don't know. Thief on the prowl.....be careful....has anyone else faced something of this sort........the transcript of the mail is,

Best you contact netsol support asap and report this asap - just in case. It might also help tighten up security at netsol to.

Yeah, I make that point myself in my domain site where I criticize companies using "cutesy" marketing gimmick domains instead of logical subdomains, especially in situations where they're expecting customers to trust them and enter personal information, and so forth... you really have no certain way of knowing whether "some-stupid-gimmick.com" is an official site or not.
