I am downloading as I type...

Very excited to see the new features and Aero Glass interface... I have the Office 2007, Sharepoint & IE7 beta's as well and have been very impressed!

Thank you for your interest in Windows Vista Beta 2.

We are currently experiencing a high level of demand and cannot process your request at this time.

Please check back later for availability. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I tested the first beta and it had lots of bugs. Hope this one is improved.

Vista isn't upgradable. You will need to install it on a separate partition/drive.I'm using Windows XP x64 too and compatibility is awful but it's a whole lot faster than the 32bit version.

Its stable yes, but the most simple things like wireless networking.. webcams are almost impossible to get drivers for.

Vista is supposed to be much more driver friendly.

well you gotta expect driver issues with the 64 bit version. it is not microsoft who makes the drivers but the hardware vendors...

i am using the 32 bit version and it is very, very nice !!!

Installation limitations
There are two installation scenarios for Windows Vista Beta 2 (and RC1):
1. You can do a clean installation. This process will overwrite any data that you have on your hard disk or on your installation partition. The overwritten data will be lost and unrecoverable.
2. You can upgrade an existing installation of Windows XP.

Did you download the beta and burn it on DVD yourself or did you purchase a DVD kit? Maybe something went wrong when you copied the files to DVD...

I burned the ISO using Roxio EZ cd creator. I think the download might have gotten corrupted though. It was showing -900% and other weird numbers all throughout the download.

has anybody experienced system instability with Windows Vista? If yes, do you recommend it to me to install? I am usually very sceptical even pessimistic about trial softwares. Somebody please enlighten me on this. thanks.

This is a beta version, so it is no stable version. It is for beta testers to find bugs in the software which are then reported to Microsoft. You should not install it on your main computer. That would be too risky.
