It's surely a nice Registrar with wholesale prices and user-friendly control panel (even if you can't change the registrant company + first/last name by yourself and you can't push domains to other accounts without contacting every time their support service).

They promise:

- 24x7 Customer Online Support (but note they don't answer during the weekend, Friday and Saturday ... They answer during the other days but not so promptly especially if you're asking them to do something a bit time-consuming, i.e. pushing to another account multiple domains etc ...). In general, they're VERY KIND but problems don't get always solved in the most professional way ...

- Free Change of Registration (surely free but only when they've the time to move a domain to another account)

In July, we sold domain paginebianche.net , we renewed it (because it was expiring) then we asked them to move it to a new account that we had previously created for the new owner.
The day after whois showed it as “not renewed” so we opened a ticket (and obviously we’ve still a copy of it in our account) asking them to investigate on the reasons of this … But they didn’t waste a single minute of their time to check the situation, simply answering that whois sometimes are not updated in time.

Ok, we trusted them and we forgot about it … For a real case, we saw it in the dropping list few days ago and, with big surprise, we contacted them to complaint with reference to the previous ticket where they assured us it was all ok.
They’ve simply answered they were very sorry for their negligence but the person who answered us no longer work with them … Classical excuse … We solved in a friendly way the situation with the buyer but what would have happened if this domain would have had an high market value ?

No more comment … It’s surely a nice Registrar but don’t trust them at 100% and check twice on everything they affirm.

FINAL NOTE: Our real goal is reporting anything wich doesn’t work properly on the net in general with the intention to see it improved with the time, no intention to damage them or their reputation, we’ve simply reported all facts exactly as they occurred.

I am happy and satisfied with cnobin

why?

-very cheap competitive prices.
-allow domain deletion within 3 days of registeration with money back minus 1 dollar.
-the domain comes into work few seconds after registeration. also changing servers happen very quickly compared to other registrars I have dealt with.
-Online support although not 24/7 but around 80% of time I find them online.
-Doesn't allow domain pushing make me feels more secure. they push it for you after you send a ticket.
- Chinese people understand my english better than americans. I mean non-english native people can understand each other more easily.

Donno some agree with me but others don't

but this is my opinion

cheers!

I agree in full with you on all points but losing a domain after having renewed it and asked them to check the situation (they didn't), left me very disappointed ... So I only say that we'll check twice and much more carefully whois of all domains after having renewed them from now, without trusting at 100% their affirmations, we'll verify anything again by ourselves ... all here :)

They did a mistake this time ok ... but we'll take care this will not happen again in the future because losing renewed domains isn't very nice ... :(

For our luck, the domain had a limited value but we'll pay much more attention from now, we'll monitor in bulk all our portfolio every month, stressing and hard work but we can't avoid it :(

A better solution might be paying someone to write/install a script which will do this whole work on our behalf ...

I also just had a "how-the-heck-did-they-allow-this-to-happen" experience with CNOBIN.

A customer was trying to renew a number of .info domains unsucessfully, so I got CNOBIN support on MSN to see how to fix the problem. After I was put on hold on MSN for a while, i was told that the .info renewal system is "broke" and that "it will not be back up any time recently (they meant "soon")" and that I should tell my customer to transfer his .info collectioin to another registrar!

At first I couldn't believe my eyes I was reading what I was reading. Then I realized the customer had deposited a significant amount for this, had paid Paypal fees and I had used my credit card to credit this amount to my customer who needed to renew these names ASAP. Nowhere on their site, there is a warning about this technical failure!

To make things worse, the domain names in question expired because of the related delay and it looks like he may end up loosing them altogether!

I wanted to work with CNOBIN to fix this problem without any waste of time. As you all know, time is of essense in this business. But immediately after I was told the system was "broke", they told me they are all going to lunch! I am not kidding. I intented to speak to the supervisor (whom I have talked to on many occassions before), but there was really no one to talk to me and their MSN wat set to "AWAY".

I am appauled but still hope. I will keep the forum informed.....

What is wrong with this picture? It 's really too bad cause their interface is commendable.

Stay tuned..
