Just received 6 emails from Godaddy saying -

Heading - Domain Security Update
Support @ godaddy.com

"Dear Customer,

This notification is generated automatically as a service to you.

Because of unusual number of invalid login attempts on you account, we had to believe that, their might be some security problem on you account. So we have decided to put an extra verification process to ensure your identity and your account security. "

It was beautifully done.

It looked official.

They want your acct name and password.

And, the "please click on" goes to an "info" domain.

Q: How could you tell it was not official?
A: There was no Danica Patrick photo on it!

That is funny. You are correct.
There is no picture of Danica Patrick on the email.

Whom ever did this, did their homework.
They sent it to 4 different auth. email addresses I use.
And, none to some of my other casual email addresses.

They must have scraped it off of domains in Godaddy.

If I got them, 1,000's of other people must have received the email.

However, I always roll the cursor over the "please click on" to see where it is going before following thru.

That's NOT safe enough.
I think there is way to manipulate browser status bar although I forgot how.

Right click your mouse on link.
Choose "copy link address".
Paste it onto Notepad (I use stickie).
Copy the link from Notepad to your browser.
