www.webResourceIndex.com is for sale. Offers Invited.

This webmaster site is based on cpLinks, my free directory script, and currently has 7865 webmaster sites listed in the directory. It has an Alexa rating of 83,847 and a PR of 5/10.

This site currently earns $90/month through advertising, although the existing advertiser will not reman after the sale. I have done no promotion of the site at all, other than the cpLinks listing on hotscripts.com, http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/35309.html, and other script resource sites, so there is enormous potential to develop this site further.

Existing cpLinks customers (and there are thousands of them - Hotscripts has had 4250 hits for this script) return to this page http://www.webresourceindex.com/free_scripts/ for news about cpLinks so there is an opportunity for commercial development in this part of the site.

Note that when I sell WebResourceIndex.com, I will point the Hotscripts and other script resource site links to cplinks.com and it is a condition of sale that the new owner retains text and a link on this page http://www.webresourceindex.com/free_scripts/ to point cpLinks owners to cpLinks.com

Included in the sale is www.webtoolratings.com a PR5 site that has been drifting for a while. I will also tranfer the following domains with this site: webtoolrating.com and webtoolsratings.com

All domains are registered with GoDaddy.

I am selling these two sites, because I am too busy to devote time to them. WebResourceIndex.com could achieve great things in the right hands.

Thanks for looking.

How many people come to your site from hotscripts?

What is your current unique visitor count?

The ASP category says it has 106 from the main page. Once you get inside that page, it looks like there is about 1000 listings. The ASP resources page says it has 416 listings, yet when I go to the page, it obviously doesn't have near that many. Why is this?

About 50% The others come from Search engines and link clickthroughs. There are a lot of sites out there that use cpLinks that have the cpLinks copyright pointing to webResourceIndex. The copyright link now points to cpLinks.com.

What is your current unique visitor count?

Its only about 90 per day at the moment, but that is with no promotion at all.

Yes it looks like a problem with the count query. There are about 1000 ASP resources listed in the directory. I'l look into that and fix it.

Thanks for your interest and for the bids so far.

Uniques Page Views
------- -----------
August to date: 961 5,529
July: 2069 13,491
June: 4068 20,527
May: 7794 12,939

So you can see that it is slipping as I have been unable to give the site any focus.

As to price, the site has been earning $90/month since May and that is obviously way below what it could achieve given more focus and some targeted marketing spend. I would be looking for a reasonable multiple of the existing revenue, but I am open to sensible offers.

<edit>Looks like I lost the formating of the stats</edit>

License is spelled "license", not "licence"... you may want to correct your menu on the site.

I would like to run a site like that, but am confused about your asking price being stated as "reasonable multiple of the existing revenue. But you also state that you will be taking away the main advertiser and cutting the traffic by half. So, can you please give a real figure, or at least a price range, of what it will take to buy the site? Thanks.

You are right! It seems that the site got kicked out of Google!

Sorry about not replying sooner, but it was late in the UK, where I'm based

Thanks - but being British I spelt it the British way and http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=licence

Its true that I will be taking the main advertiser and that traffic will initially fall by, I would estimate, about 2/3rds so that is factored into my price expectations. However it is also a fact that people are willing to advertise on the site and the site has great potential that I am unable to meet. I actually don't need to sell it at all and won't if I don't get a reasonable price. There is an offer outstanding that is starting to get close to my expectations. As this was made in private I would have to ask the bidder before publicising it. To help, I have decided that my "buy it now" price is $500.

I don't think so! Why would it have a PR5 rating then?

I've no idea why. Googlebot hit the site 560 times in July (which is a bit low) , but not at all in August. I'm going to contact Google to find out why. If there is a problem, then I will withdraw this offer, sort it out with Google and then re-advertise the site.

The highest offer is $400 at the moment.

Waiting for a ballpark of what you are looking for first :)

Given this issue with Google, that I was unaware of, I will place a buy it now price of $450 for these sites.

I was interested and you tell us the unique visitor count but does that really matter? You'll be withdrawing the hotscripts links and links from other directories taking most of the traffic away from the site.

I will withdraw the HotScripts link, but will keep the other script resource directories pointing at WebResourceIndex as long as the new owner maintains a means of pointing potential cpLinks users at cpLinks.com. There are a lot of cpLinks sites that still have the cpLinks copyright link pointing to WebResourceIndex and EVERY cpLinks site has copyright links in the admin control panel pointing to WebResourceIndex.com.

This is still a huge relevent directory with vast potential. The latest stats show that 12.2% of users bookmark it, so users are interested in it. It receives one or more link requests every day, and with no promotion from me at all, and these sites have nothing to do with cpLinks. If I were to keep it I would enforce a link exchange to drive up the backlinks.

In some ways its a shame that I haven't got time to devote to it as this has huge potential. I guess that is what I'm selling - an established site that needs someone to drive it to the next level and I'm throwing WebToolRatings and its domains in free.
