I was wondering if anybody has any opinions on domains that cover technology or other issues using the domains *week.com
A lot of different publishers us it -- there's Business Week, there's ZD's eweek, there's (I think the publisher is CMP) Technology Week and Internert Week and somebody even has TV Week.
I was just wondering if I started an ezine or print magazine called "Something Week," if anybody could come back on me for using somethingweek.com. I've looked in the trademark database, and couldn't find any trademarks on the names I want to use.
I would be a lot more worried if it was the same company using "Something Week." But a lot of different companies use it, so no one seems to have a franchise on the "Something Week" construction.
Still, in this day and age, I wouldn't be surprised to get a C&D letter from almost any publisher using the "Something Week," form.
Any ideas?
