Afternic’s bulk upload system may be familiar to you, especially if you have hundreds or thousands of domain names listed. Bulk upload reduces the time spent managing your portfolio, allowing you to spend more time on other domain investing activities.
Behind the scenes, our team has been upgrading the entire system, making it faster and simpler to make updates to your portfolio. We’ve also made some improvements to bring more visibility and utility into the bulk upload system. Here’s what you need to know.
Responding to your feedback for greater transparency into the upload process, we’ve introduced a new “Upload History” section in the Add Domains area.
The new tab will show you if your upload is in progress, failed, or complete. Customized reports will allow you to delve into the details to confirm the success of your upload.
It’s a big step forward for visibility into the bulk upload process at Afternic that we’re excited to see our sellers begin using.
In September, our Senior Director of Product Management, Alan Shiflett, revealed that Afternic was in the process of upgrading its internal “pipes,” the architecture that connects your domain name listings and pricing to our services.
After successfully completing the first phase, our team recently switched the bulk upload system from the old pipes, to the new.
While we didn’t announce the switchover at the time, many sellers noticed the increased speed at which bulk uploads were processed.
The bulk upload infrastructure update comes with an important change to your spreadsheet.
Previously, you needed to maintain and upload a full portfolio spreadsheet for any changes. Now, the system only processes the specific information you include in your spreadsheet.
In this example snapshot above, we’re updating the floor and Buy Now prices for two domains. With our new bulk upload system, to update just the floor and Buy Now prices, you need to simply include that information, and nothing more.
All other fields can be left blank, significantly reducing the time and effort required for portfolio management.
Building on our individual domain CamelCasing feature, we’ve now integrated this functionality into the bulk upload process. This allows you to enhance the readability of multiple domains simultaneously, potentially increasing their marketability.
Domain sellers, especially those listing domains with two or more words, often employ CamelCasing to help differentiate multiple words. Some sellers attribute an increase in sales to CamelCasing.
Here’s how to add CamelCasing in bulk, using our spreadsheet:
Feedback from our domain sellers is very important to future developments at Afternic. Each update you’ve read about above started as user feedback. You can share your feedback on Afternic’s product with us via email at [email protected], or via X, @Afternic.

Bulk Uploads and New Pipes

Same Process, Less Work
The bulk upload infrastructure update comes with an important change to your spreadsheet.

Bulk CamelCasing
Building on our individual domain CamelCasing feature, we’ve now integrated this functionality into the bulk upload process. This allows you to enhance the readability of multiple domains simultaneously, potentially increasing their marketability.
Domain sellers, especially those listing domains with two or more words, often employ CamelCasing to help differentiate multiple words. Some sellers attribute an increase in sales to CamelCasing.
Here’s how to add CamelCasing in bulk, using our spreadsheet:
- If you haven’t already, grab a copy of Afternic’s portfolio management spreadsheet
- Add your domain names. CamelCasing is supported in the Domain Name (REQUIRED) column. Important – if you just want to update your CamelCasing, you can leave all other columns of the spreadsheet blank.
- Save your file as a CSV, and head to afternic.com/domains/add
- Click “Upload a File” and add your CSV file
- Make sure you’ve selected “Update” radio button option
- Click “Add Domains”
- Your CamelCasing domains will be active in your portfolio!
