Is Ebay any better now if you want to put up a serious auction, or is it still easy for fraudsters to put in those fake bids and skip town?

http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=5769591767

The guy doing this auction the other day was really strict and he kept an eye on it and removed bids from people who did not contact him and had low feedback scores.

Ebay is still full of a lot of junk sales so I guess a lot of people only look there occasionally, and I think any sales would need to be well advertised elsewhere ;)

I have a feeling if this name had been advertised elsewhere it would have fetched twice as much if not significantly more

Thanks for this interesting example, gpmgroup. I didn't know you could remove bids. That helps. (That's a remarkably low final price for a name like science.info.)
