I back ordered lately an excellent forgot domain name with snaps.com.
This domain name is actually registered thru Network Solutions.
I just would like to have an idea (of course without any renew consideration) of the chance i have to get this domain... (I think it can be a million dollar name.
If you are voting under 50% can you tell me what can i do to increase my chances?
Just let me know.
Thanks.

I don't think anyone can give you an accurate answer with the information provided, except to say that if it REALLY IS "a million dollar name", you will probably stand no chance against the independent clubs, Ultsearch etc.
Other than that you can try a "belt and braces" move by adding it to a Namewinner bid, taking out a Godaddy back-order and using the Enom Club Drop. There are others like expirefish etc but they don't get much praise here.

Yeah, i guess it is a hig-valued DN.
Not as much as sex.com or loan.com but although excellent for the web.
Can you tell me a bir more about these independent club?
Why i will have no chance with my snap agaisnt them?
What was the utility of the WLS then?
I now this question should been in the newbie area, it's a part of the true, i have no experience with the snap process.
Thanks for your answer.

The independent clubs have more resources available to grab specific names they want - snap sellers have to spread their resources around all the snap requests they get.
Stands to reason if you can try on say a ratio of 1:3 rather than 1:25 (don't know the actual ratios) then you will have a better chance of being there when the name drops.
Snapnames (including Namealerts, Snaps etc) will catch many good names, as will Namewinner, but the BIG names are a different story.

The competition is very tight, and Snapnames is only one of them. If you really want the name, you should use multiple services as Mr Webname said.

stuff posted an excellent statistics that should give you an idea how the different services are doing.

Thanks a lot 888 to point me out these stats.
From what i can see SN got 49%, but the beautifullest were got by Buydomains..... :-/
And i guess the only thing i can do will be to put an extremly high bid on NW to increase my chance. What will happening if i win the bid on NW, but also the snap?
Will i have to pay the both?

Snaps are paid for when ordered. If Snap gets it you pay nothing to NW obviously cause they didn't get the Domain for you. If NW gets it you will have to change the Snapped Domain to something else.

If NW does get it I guess you are kinda paying both ways, but the Snap can be exchanged.

I had a Snap and NW bid, NW got the Domain so I had to change my Snap for another Domain. The nice thing is NW got it for $8.75 vs the $40 I paid for the Snap.

I think I know what it is.
There will be $50 000 bids on NameWinner and BuyDomains will go for it as well. So, I'd guess you chaces are 10% if the domain in not renewed.

Yakov,

The one you might be referencing probably will not drop.

I have been in negotitation with one domain owner for the past couple months. "They" want (usd) $ 2.2 million for it. And, they will not come off of that price! I think they are nuts!
