Hi, All:
Would love to get some feedback from those who participated in domain auctions that cover a particular theme or category.
For example, take a look at this
http://bit.ly/b30n7A
Does this type of "theme" auctions help draw many more bidders?
If you're a buyer or a seller, what would be your feelings about participating in such auctions? Reasons?
Buyers get more competition, but so do sellers, it seems. It is hard to tell on balance what the end effect will be. For buyers, it is a convenience, I think, as you get to choose among many domains offered for sale. Do sellers get a better price for participating than the normal (no-theme) for-sale listing and the normal auctions?
I am thinking of listing one or two travel-related domains for this coming Sedo auction, but just like to get some feedback from experienced domainers. I think the final price will be fairer for both buyer and seller, given a larger group of participants on both sides. Make sense? Opposing views welcome. Of course the end result is the proof, but I've never participated in a "theme" auction before, so I like to hear from those who have.
Thanks.
