Hi friends ,

There is a name I am dying to grab and am the highest bidder at
NW . Some one else had a snap on it. Today I just checked the snap and it was available ! :D

Now I have the snap also. The domain expired three months ago and still is active. I talked to a customer service representative of registrar (believe me , they have such a department ;) ) who told me it is in the administrative grace period . Now what is that ?

And what are the chances that I will actually get this name ?

Thanks. :)

Today the customer service rep told me it has not been renewed.

They didn't put the name into redemption period before 45 days so it will go directly to PENDING DELETE when they finally drop the name (if they ever drop the domain). Name would be available for registration 6 days after going into PENDING DELETE.
You will have to monitor name daily.

Thanks for the informative post. Snapnames is already watching it for me and will inform me whenever there is a change. But I am not going to take a chance and will watch it daily. What else can I do (in addition to snapnames and nw) to grab this name? :)

Go into register.com office, place gun to the temple of high ranking official, demand transfer of the name.

Register.com already spent their $6 for one year registry-renewal.
Registry offers them (register.com) 45 days grace period. This grace period is already ended.
So there is no way for register.com to recover their $6 now.
(Only if original registrant renews the name).

So ... If I were register.com, I would not delete this name within the next year! As I want to use a chance to receive renewal payment from registrant. And I paid my own $6 for this opportunity.

Maybe this is the reason why snap was removed
