Has anyone completed a pre-order (where no one else bid on a CM domain) or won a recent auction on Namejet yet? If so, care to share the domain name with us and what you want to do with it? :)

Yes, we have gotten names that we pre-ordered and were the only "bidder"...plan to let them eventually expire since they barely get any traffic...

Was hoping one would get AT LEAST 30 or 40 hits per day and is only getting 3 or 4 lol

.cm is a really bad typo. The 4 visitors are not even good ones either.

A missing letter typo = low TQ score. At least lower than most other typo variations.

And Rick.

People should have been clued into this when there was a ccTLD auction a while back and .CM were being auctioned off even before they were released to the public.

If one or two people are hand picking then, gee...I wonder who got what.

I am in the same boat having wasted $350 on a 'Test' domain.

Traffic is horrible and I will be letting it drop once it expires in two years.

You win some... you lose some... :sigh2:

I pre-ordered several CM domains and was rejected for all of them. I believe that every CM that was auctioned was a money-loser and that this was done intentionally.

if anyone was following the past when .cm hit and the deal that when down...you would have to expect that any domain sell-off would mostly be worthless in terms of typo traffic.

since they already knew the stats for every high traffic domain with .cm extension.

imo...

so you guys got hosed?
Not I. Stayed out of this. As Don pointed out, if you had followed the history of this extension, no real play to be made. The premise of the extension was to be a typo for com (cm). I would imagine the stats for someone making a typo for .com (.cm) are not very high.

Plus, seems now that once you visit a site, the browsers are smart enough to fill in the rest for you. Chances are very slim for traffic, imo. Perhaps 5-7 years ago this would have a viable market before the browsers grew up and got smarter.

Good info. Thanks everyone! I was interested in a few auctions, but now I'm a little leery. I have seen many go for a high dollar amount - generics mainly.

I would think if you develop a domain with a good generic, you could make some decent coinage. What do you think?

There are definitely lots of .cm names with traffic that went to auction..they went for big bucks. The majority have very very low traffic though...

CreditReport.cm was a good one since the .com version gets a few million for example..

Thanks Focus! It looks like you deal with a lot of high end .coms and are pretty knowledgeable about DN's in general (from the posts I've read). Do you have a business website?

P.S. Before anyone even goes there, this is not a Bromance or anything like that. I just give credit to where it's due and I will try to learn from people who know more about domain names and investing than I do.
