I am new here, though I have been browsing the forums for awhile.

I wanted to see if some members could tell me what backordering services are out there and rank them from best to worst. If you could also post URL's I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Brandon

Expire Fish is good for mediocre names that you forget about.
All of sudden you get notice that you caught the name.

Unfortunately, there has been times that I put a name on the ExpireFish list. But, really didn't want it.

I have, also, noticed that they grab the name around 12 hours later after it drops. So, their computer is not checking often. Or, they have too many names to check.

the first name is a semi-private club (i think) I use it becuz bids are too high @ NW :D
I believe thier email is listed on their website.

As for GoDaddy, call em, they have great tech support.

Thier backorders suck quite a bit htough :(

Here's how I'd rank my recent experience with the drop catching services:-

#1 DropKing
#2 SnapNames
#3 NicGenie
#4 NameWinner
#5 DropWizard
#6 ExpireFish
Unlisted TheFirstName, GoDaddy (no success yet)
Unranked Enom Club Drop (I'm not a member)

I'm ranking the above based on the quality of the names the services got for me and the $$$ I had to pay out to get those names.

So we get an opinion from someone who doesn't use a certain service and he says it sucks....

Then we get an opinion from someone who does use that service and he says it rocks.

Hmmm.... I wonder who we should believe?

I think its difficult to rank the services in any event since they all have different systems and advantages and disadvantages. Personally i think snapnames is the best overall odds. If the name is great and you managed to get the snap you only pay $50 regardless of whether the name is worth 10k or more.

If you don't have the snap and have to use the bidding services you can end up paying more than you could get by reselling it or monetizing the domain's traffic. That being said, all the other services do get big names...if you're willing to pay.

dropking got offshore.com
dropwizard got sorceress.com
nicgenie got reporter.com

If you're like me and can't bid 5-10k on namewinner for every name then the first come first serve services are you're only shot at the top names.

The 4 main services i use are

snapnames
dropwizard
godaddy
expirefish

I use the bidding services for "medium names" but i don't usually bid more than 200-300

If a name drops and no one tries to get it , Expirefish 'may' get it for you. It stinks like expired fish.

ok to clarify, what i HAVE USED.

Snapnames (only have snaps on names expiring in a few months but I know thier eservice is very good)
DropWiz (Used thier service before, havent caught anything, they used to catch good names)
TheFirstName (used them, cuaght a name that had a snap and NW bid of over $100 on it)
ExpireFish ("caught" a really bad name for me 3 days after it dropped, STAY AWAY)

I have NOT used dropking, they never replyed to my signup. I was judging on recent past results.

NOT used GoDaddy, judging on what ALOT of other people say.

NOT used Club Drop, judgin on what Yakov says, until he got RussianMusic.com! lol

sorry if my origanal post was not neccisary :(

Lot's of new drop services springing up all over.

I'm not sure if www.namescout.com has started a drop club but they use to be a snapnames partner and beat my snap recently on Spines.net

Namefox.com keeps coming up as a winner in the drops. they are new to me also.

www.wolfis.com An enom affiliate is the newest one I've found. Haven't used it yet.

Snapnames via Snaps.com has done pretty good for me although the 4 move limit per snap is stressful  so far I've been able to catch a decent name in 4 tries but 2 times it was down to the last move.

NameWinner.com very reliable but easy to overspend. Auction fever!

Whois-Search.com does a great job of listing the drop winners

http://www.whois-search.com/deleting/caught.php

Best of luck to you all

Actually, his lists suck. He lists but a fraction of names of value that go that day, usually not even the top ones. So how this is indicative of anything other than who caught names from "his selection" is beyond me.

Yes there is always room for improvement and a larger listing would be nice. I appreciate him posting it. I still look at his list so I don't have to look up all the drops I follow :D

If you're checking results for previous drops the status checker at www.freewho.com works nice if your familiar with the drop companies.

I already said that.

But you do not need to use a drop service to determine thier perfomance, that is what WhoIs is for...

perhaps you need to run a better list through that whois then...
