some say .com and .net are going to collapse?

and I admit that Chinese IDN is better and easier for me to type the Url on the browser,though I think I　am ok and custom to use english url or numbers like apple.cn and 999.com

so more and more liberate and democratic rules are set free and what will be the king?

Chinese IDN (at its current stage) is nothing more than a hassle, considering people have to type Chinese characters and THEN switch to english to type in ".com" or whatever extension. It seems more efficient for Chinese internet users to merely type a pin yin version of the site + .com (like they do for tudou.com).

I think .com and .net domains might suffer some short term depreciation if and when investors decide to short them. But in the long term, a collapse is far from happening in an age where globalization = money. It's no surprise that trend carries over to the domain name industry, where global TLD's mean money too.

It's interesting that the #1 search engine in China (baidu.com) neither owns 百度.com nor 百度.cn.

I'm not saying IDN's are pointless, but until there is a .中國, the system isn't really complete.. I will wait and see. Perhaps ICANN's new resolution will bring forth a monster opportunity for certain domainers.
