.info registered at Goddaddy

Status: PENDING DELETE SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE

Expiration Date:09-Sep-2008

The owner said it dropped. The name isn't at TDNAM either.

WTF ???

Looks like it doesn't expire for another 10 months...

-Ben

Yeah that's what I figured, but then why the Pending Delete status?

If the owner says it dropped, who currently owns the domain?

Have you looked for it at snapnames - names that don't sell at tdnam go there. Other than that, maybe Godaddy are keeping it.

Sounds like a job for DCG - VP of the aftermarket!

Isn't it one of those .infos which has been registered with fake TM in 2001 ? These "dropped" back to Affilias, I think later Affilias will auction it, maybe next year.

My guess: the actual expiry date is Expiration Date:09-Sep-2007

When a name expires it is usually provisionally renewed at the registry for another year but if owner doesn't renew the registrar can still drop the name and get a refund within 45 days...

If you check the name using domaintools for example registry data should show
Expiration Date:09-Sep-2008
and registrar data should show
Expiration Date:09-Sep-2007
It can be confusing to see the discrepancies between the two expiry dates, of course it's the registry data that prevails.
I assume it's a .com/.net

Thanks for that! It does appear the name is at snapnames. I never thought to check because I thought all GD names went to TDNAM.

The status above is the info/biz equivalent of Pending Delete for com/net. It's
going to become available 5 days from last updated date if it hasn't yet as of
this post.

Actually I notice that to my domains which I dropped too. It seems like the registrar (not just godaddy) change the expiration date to 2008 instead letting it drop right away, but it shows expired in my account. If I renew it, it will be 2008. Not really sure what the deal is...

It is going to be in auction on snapnames tomorrow so I think you are right.
