It's about a guy who has lived through time. He has been a caveman, he was Jesus, etc and having a goodbye party with fellow professors. One of the professors he is talking to

I believe Samuel L. Jackson played a professor role. The lead guy looked liked or could have been the lead guy in Rose Red mini series.
