I have the money to register a domain and purchase hosting for a forum but i don't know what i should make the forum about, can someone please help :-(

I don't want to make it about Domains, Webhosting or Website development because there is too much competition like DNForum and other popular forums.

I am thinking of making a forum that alot of people will like :)

What do you think people like to talk about these days? :approve:

Thanks for your help! :)

The best way to get a forum running is to set up a site with some content. People will visit for content and stay for the forums.

It'll be hard to get people posting in the forums who will actually stick around. You can bribe people to post, but they won't usually return to the forums.

So I think the best idea for a forum to do is something that interests you. If you aren't interested in the topic, then why waste your time? But if you really want people who will stick around with forums, you'll have to have some content.

Ive just started a forum a couple of weeks ago and done as johnathan suggests and put up a site with some content. It is tough to get people to join, Im quite tempted to do the bribing thing. If i can get this one off the ground i might start a few more

Yeah, when you work on a web project, incl. a forum, you choose something that you are good at. Unless you decide to hire expert help, you need to KNOW your stuff.

Streetball is kind of the same as basketball but the rules aren't strict as the basketball rules.

You can do all kinds of tricks and techniques in streetball that you can't do in basketball, that's why alot of people play streetball these days.

Check out these sites to find out more about streetball:
http://www.and1.com
http://www.dime55.com
http://www.streetballaz.net
http://www.slam3.com

Check out http://and14eva.narod.ru/ENG/PRACTICE/AND1moves.html
If you wanna see a couple of AND1 streetball moves :) They are pretty cool :-D

They are .GIF animations, doesn't take really long to load :)

Hope that explains what streetball means :)

So, does anyone have any clue what forum software i should use for my forum?

Do you want free forum software or do you plan on paying for it, do you want the option to later on go to paid software from free software?

If paid, do you have a price range?

I like your choice of domain, and that is a quite good domain to register. Make the site look really ghetto and uniuqe.

Hmm phpBB doesn't look really good and the skins that are available don't look to good either.

What do you guys think of IPB? :-D

I still suggest PHPBB, just look really hard for a skin. If you have to, make one.
