What to do if someone copies your site / content?

This hasn't happened to me yet, but I'm sure others on here have already experienced it. What can you do if someone copies the content from your site and uses it themselves on their own site? What if they have their own server? What courses of action can be taken to both prevent and deal with someone who has done this? In fact, I believe this just happened to DNJournal.com's articles and domain sales reports. It'd be great to get everyone's input on this, especially if it has already happened to you.

Send a C&D to the domain owner, site owner, web host, web host's upstream, domain registrar and site sponsors. That's the general practice I believe.
