I've been contacted by an editor for a Real Estate journal who's writing an article about Real Estate domains. For his article, he'd like to cite some recent real estate related domain sales.
This is a great opportunity to get some attention to the namespace (those that want it to get attention, anyway).
Any sales you guys can think of that this writer should know about for the article? Real estate, commercial realty, that sort of thing.
We know of Neighbors.com for 50K and BoiseRealEstate.com for 50K.
All info appreciated.
I think you should make the point that domain names are the New Real Estate!!!
With out-of-town shopping and online retailing growing at exponential rates, online presence is on the ascendency and high street position of diminishing importance. Marks and Spencers of the UK has all the main high street locations covered, but cannot get a turn-round on its bottom line.
Search Engine position and Browser Awareness are the keys now and once all other SEO tricks have been exhausted, only a good domain name will keep you ahead of the pack. Although, the SEO lobby will argue otherwise, it must be so or we would still be accessing through IP Numbers.
My lowly contributions to the Survey are:
houseprice.net 1,000 Euros
apartmentspain.com 500 Euros
Not very impressive, but I am selling out to invest in virtual real-estate in China, where the returns are potentially much higher!
Best Regards

Actually, the acquisition of Rent.com by Ebay probably falls into this category.

The premium paid by Ebay over any realistic valuation of the company excluding the domain name, almost certainly makes this the world's most expensive domain sale!
