label.com = $20000+ because it's an established and developed site and should have at least a good amount of type-ins.

I think they know what they're doing. It's pure calculation.
Look at the bids for 'online casino'. They are pretty low at the moment but still

Go to www.overture.com

Click on "Advertiser Center"

Click on "Tools" from top nav bar.

Click on "View Bids Tool"

Enter term you're researching (e.g. labels).

Bingo!!

The top site in Overture for "sex" is paying .17 cents. It get's over a million searches in a month.

The keyword label only gets 347 searches in a month.

Higher bid amount doesn't necessarily equate to good keyword IHMO, but i am sure this has been discussed.

I use overture search tool for checking the amount of searches particular keyword word have...helps when it comes time to do your meta-tags.

It is my sense that this is an ROI issue. Some products/services companies find a high ROI on certain Overture keyterms, so they bid up the keyterm as a rational business decision.

E-commerce business model is the driver here, not general topic popularity.
