Hey folks,

You've probably heard of the movie "The Bucket List", where two terminally ill guys try to check off everything on their wish lists - things they always wanted to do.

I hope that all of us here are in good health! Still, the idea made me think.

What's on our domain "bucket lists"? In other words, what specific goals have we set as domainers? And which ones have we met?

I'll start with three examples that apply to me:

DONE
*Make a sale that gets listed in DNJournal's Weekly Sales Chart.

NOT DONE YET
*Attend a domain conference (this year, I hope).
*Own an LLL.com (but I'm working toward it!).

Those are just a few of my own goals in domaining; they would be hard for some of you, trivial for others.

What about your goals - the ones you've reached and the ones you still aspire to?

Cheers,
Dave

OK, cross one off the "NOT DONE YET" list - I just acquired my first LLL.com. :)

Anybody else have goals they want to share?

Attend a TRAFFIC convention and meet some of the 'domain superstars'.

Meet some of the regular posters here on dnforum.

Spend a day with someone like Frank Schilling to see how a large portfolio is managed on a given day.

Develop websites with lots of unique content and interaction that encourages repeat visitors, and deal directly with advertisers for ad placement (e.g.: like PalmSprings.com does).

Ive always focused much of my time and money on fresh registrations. Though I will still continue to research and register names that are already avilable... I will also be buying more names that people are offering for sale.

Nice thread man.

Good goal! At this point, I am basically full-time domaining. Just make sure you have a comfortable chair, and get up once in a while! :)

good to hear, why dont you add "I will try not to trash other peoples threads with my .mobi crap" to the list.

My to-do list: form some sort of company to minimize my tax bill

Okay, but it will depend who is inside the bucket.

you can still get some LL.com for reg fee, but they would be one french letter with an accent, and one regular letter. Many are taken but some are still available. Try the 'e' with the accent that looks like a hat.

OK, I have checked that list off completely - bought (and sold at a profit) an LLL.com, and attended TRAFFIC in New York last week.

New goal:
Build a network of related sites with enough traffic to more than justify the time I have spent developing it! (I'm a novice developer, but have started making progress toward that goal.)

How are the rest of you doing with your goals?
