The best drop I ever grabbed was back in 1997. After waiting for some 3 months, the name finally expired AND dropped. There was no snapping services or hardly even any scripter, and I simply registered it by hand at NetSol, the only registrar then. It cost me US$100 for 2 years. The best part is: I later sold it for a 5-figure. ;)

Well ... it's a 8-letter, two-word (or 1? depends), 4-syllable .com. :D

Revs.org - spotted it on deleted domains, and thought it looked nice. It has subsequently become my brand and I am very fond of it. Probably has a very low financial value, an opinion reinforced by the fact that nobody beat me to it.

I registered manually pctech.net (6,95) and sold it for 4 figures few months after.
And unsold motorbike.org - dropking got it for me.

I picked up handicrafter.com off a drop list, paid $13.50 for it, realized it was a dud, then got offered my inflated asking price of $300 for it. And the buyer was thrilled.

That was just last winter, and now the domain is on hold. Weird.

Yakov,

You made a prime example of my mediocre names.

I have Dog-Houses.com

Maybe, next year I will have dog.com for it.

See, you all ran to check dog.com Yes, it has a snap on it. Not mine. Yes, it is an active site. Will it drop? Probably not.
