I've noticed there are many very good .ca domains availalble.
I've been in the domain business for years, but never
registered any. So I'm clueless.

I must assume that there are extra challenges/regulations involved in dealing with .ca domains. The domains availalble are too good to be true.

Thanks for any info!

.ca domains are for Canadian entities ONLY, and their registration requirements are much stricter than those of .us. So if you are not a Canadian, you may simply forget it.

And yes, there is NOT any mature after market for dot-ca's, and that's exactly why you are able to find A LOT of good names.

I bought a dot.ca off of someone I contacted and it took a couple tries, many phone calls to the registrar, and about 3 weeks to transfer to my name. Resale market is non-existant, my only reason for purchasing the name was for my own use down the road.

I use 2 .ca domains for development, and I doubt I could ever sell them even if I wanted (and they combine for 200 uniques per day)
