I would not be expecting anything new for quite a while...My guess is that LLLLL.com's will come into style because of their major amount of brandability...But I personally think that the LLLL.net buyout will come before that, if it happens, and it will happen at around the end of 2008. Thats just my guess :)

How about N-N.com? I saw people willing to pay mid-$xxxx.

RD can you imagine that?:lol:

Not sure about that one (speaking as an Australian Chinese ;))...but looking at Mike's presentation I would hazard a guess that some of those NNN.com and NNNN.com's might have some regional type-in value. (Disclosure: I/my company owns/holds as security NNN/NNNN.coms)

True, you mentioned 666's association in western culture, but in China 666 means "things going smoothly" according to Wikipedia.

Which end user will want to use LLLL.net or even LLL.net? For SEO purpose?

No end user will want to play second fiddle by having the LLLL.net instead of the LLLL.com. For .co.uk, you don't get this problem.

How does this explain all the end user LLLL.net sales? There have definitley been more than a few over $200.

Juup.net just sold on SEDO for $109
fogo.net $686
muhi.net - VCVC.nets
$101
2008-05-24
namejet.com
mefa.net
$1,500
Afternic
kani.net - VCVC.nets
$278
2008-05-24
snapnames.com

alay.net - CVCV.nets
$110
2008-05-21
sedo.com

All LLLL.net fans, please understand its a big risk

The price of a .net heavily depends on the price of its corresponing .com .But the growth of a .net never really can compare with the growth of the .com .

As the price of the LLLL.com went down from 50$ for the worst ones to 30$,the price of LLLL.net are also affected. But the problem is that worst LLLL.com @ 30$ are still worth renewing for the owners. But LLLL.net which the owners regged/bought at 5-15$ are not worth for them to renew especially in bulk as the current market price for them is still nearly reg free. So expect a very very big
Drop of LLLL.net around jan-march next year.

sedo.com

explaining sales is easy:

in most cases "domainers" buy them
but they do not know what they will do with them
except selling to other "domainers" who do not know either

Are you a newbie? Every domainer has gone through this stage. I've also paid for my lessons. :)

Im a newbie on this board. Here are some more recent EndUser sales:

Laan.net $2,688 AfternicDLS
omdc.net $2,200
icsc.net $1,200
bizo.net $1,500
cryo.net $1,485
Veas.net $2,323

I have yet to see anyone posting sales from LLLL.co.uk or any sort of evidence that it will prevail long term. More than half of the LLLL.net are already registered! People said the same thing about LLLL.com when they were at 50%, search the archives.

I have 800 premium LLLL.net domains and during last 6 months I made 5 end-user sales. 4 of 5 sales were at my asking price (450$) without any negotiations and 1 was negotiating hardly and I had to sell domain for just 90 euros. Still not bad that I bought them for 5$ each. This is just 1650$ net profit for these 5 domains, while I need 4000$ for renewals (of course I can sell the whole portfolio now for 9600$ and I would have 7200$ of net profit for 6 months) but on the contrary I do believe in LLLL.nets and if in one year we will see huge drops I will reg all them again :)

Sorry for being newbie and not buying LLL.coms in 2001 because in 2001 i had no internet :) Now I live in 2008 and I'm looking into future - 2015...

You might didn't know but if you look at DNJournal you will see 2-5 LLLL.net sales over 1000$ each week, and there are many unreported sales. I regged about 100 LLLL.orgs 1 month ago and already sold one without any negotiations

some of the LLLL.com's are as useless now as they were 5 years ago

the only difference is that someone pays the registration fees for them

Some LLL.com domains are also "useless", yet people will be paying $10k for them soon enough :)

Anyone think that .us domains will be huge anytime soon? I've already seen a few businesses in my college town turn to .us domains.

I've heard a lot of buzz around the .us extension. Funny how 1 day no one is paying attention to certain extensions then all of a sudden people can't get enough of them.

Not the first time for dot us. it happened also for sometime around Q4 2005, everyone started to become interested in dot us, and started bidding up prices.

The dot US extension is definitely on the way up, I'm seeing more traffic and good sales/profit in the past year.

The next big rush on the internet is personalization and socialization.

ie, first names with pages like with blog.com and things like that.

GISELLESBLOG.COM
PAYTONSBLOG.COM
PAIGESBLOG.COM
HAYLEESBLOG.COM
HOPESBLOG.COM

Personalization and socialization is the next step.
The next rush could be Brazil, and its progress with their unfavorable .com.br!
