Would you think better deals on '08 vehicles before the end of the year, or after?

09's are already out but now that it's the end of the month some dealerships might be trying to push for a quote or a bonus.

That's mainly what I'm wondering. On one hand, they may be pushing to hit the quota or bonus before the end of the year. On the other hand, after the year is up and it is '09 they might have overstock on '08s to blow out. I don't really know, so I'm asking if anyone knows when is more likely, if at all, to be the better time to buy.

According to my mom (who worked at a dealership) the best time is the last 4-5 days in the month. Dealerships get bonuses if they sell a certain number of cars and it might be tiered (more bonus per car if they sell more cars).

I don't think the new year will have much of an affect on the prices of 08's, those usually drop when the 09's come out (fall-ish?).

It's the 27th of December, shop around and look at other place's deals (try to get things in writing but many places won't give deals in prices in writing since everyone else will price match.

What might hold you back now is financing, even if you have a lot to put down and good credit.

Hey, I am selling my 2007 Shelby GT with under 7k in miles. It is a limited edition Carrol Shelby Factory Built Signature Edition. Only 5,000 were made and mine is numbered 495 of 5,000

I need to liquidate some of my assets and cars, so I will make you a great deal if you are interested.

Right now is a good time to buy. Dealerships around here are offering 0% and pricing 50% of the msrp.

I look at some of the pricing and its flat out ridiculous to be honest, especially for pre-owned. even so the dealers offer such 'deals' because msrp is a bit ridiculous as well. Look at the average price of a new car compared to the average persons annual income. For many it would be a years salary (after taxes). maybe this is another reason there is such high rate of consumer debt in the US, with so many having to make car payments.

anyhoo, It just hit me. I've regged AutomotiveBubble.com :D

if you have to buy now, the deals are good.

but wait for the next bailout if you can...prices and deals are going to get better.

HI

If I had the money right now I would buy a new car right now.. I have seen discounts from up to $6000 on new cars here in Australia... advertised on TV...

Even good second hand cars are a lot cheaper now.

Thanks
Tom

The dealers are absolutely dying right now. What are you looking to buy?
