It all depends on what kind of gTLDs they are, if they are unchallenged and are not part of a contention set then there is a good chance that they might be approved by around the middle of next year. Something like .NYC probably will have a lot easier time getting approved than some of the generic keyword strings that have multiple applicants or that are going to be objected to by different entities.
Off course ICANN is having a hard time trying to figure out a way to sort through all the applications, but perhaps they should start with the ones that are a clear cut case like City TLDs or some of the coined brand TLDs and leave the troublesome ones for last.
