Can see that asking for an appraisal in the appraisal section of this forum is only acceptable if you own the name.

I do not own the name in question here... however I'm looking for some domainers' opinions on whether the name is any good and how much it might be worth.

Could anybody let me know which section (if any) would be suitable to make such a query in?

Thanks.

As long as the value in the domain isn't instantly evident, it doesn't hurt to make an offer. I think I remember reading on this forum that "sometimes" a domain is worth as much as a buyer is willing to pay for.

Already whois'ed the domain and asked for the asking price. Received no reply.

The owner was in Norway... probably doesn't speak English.

He has the name on Sedo at 1,600 euros. It's a great, high demand one-word .info. Have a hard time believing any .info name is worth more than $1,000 (just my opinion).

I think I'd have to agree. Figure what it's worth to -you- (forget everyone else) then offer half, and go from there. That is, if you would be developing it yourself. If you would be looking at reselling, you're probably looking at flying by the seat of your pants. But, that's not always a bad thing, those have been the most profitable deals for me.....but you do buy new pants often.

Just hit post and saw your post above mine....I would tend to agree about .info ...not to say there are no exceptions (travel.info, etc.)

Make friends who know there shizzit or bribe someone in Niagara Falls with a $100 gift basket ( chocolate/coffee ) and maybe he'll help you lol

After many years and millions in business I can nail down a reseller price on any tld in a matter of 5-10 minutes by using my gut, experience and 3 tools.

Re: the tld... It's my only reservation. I'll just come out and say it... the domain name is "condos". As a real estate career is looming within a year for me, I have been looking for a kick-ass domain name to dominate with. Such a name would allow me individually to own the condo niche.

I think I'd have to pass on this one. If it was condo.info then it would be a maybe, especially considering your career. But, I wait on this one. If you were thinking for reselling or even developing and felt sure of it, maybe but they would have to come down some. This is something you want for a solid foundation, and that those potential clients will remember 2 weeks after they saw your ad or met you in person. ...this one's just too unnatural for me....condo information makes sense, but condos information doesn't flow and wouldn't stick in my head.

You've got somewhere close to a year, I think I'd wait for the one that's just right and you know it without asking....it should almost hit you in the side of the head if it is right.

Just my $0.02, hope it's of some help.
