Hi,

I would like to discuss another issue with platinum members as they are experienced people in bdomain business. I would like to ask people that where do you generally sell your domains and how..

Do you sell in private forums, or from sedo, sedo auction, afternic, buydomains etc or you find your customers as well depeding on what? And by auction or in a fixed sale price? Which is the best way to sell a domain in a worthy price, I would like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

You probably won't get many responses to this question from other folk, but I hope I can help.

1)forums
2)browse online for possible leads(google, yahoo, bing, whois lookups, etc.)
3)I made sales in the beginning of the year for x,xxx in manta.com,check it out.
4)auction sites (I haven't been successful in this area though, but still check it out)
5)spread the word to people you know that you have domains for sale, word of mouth is always good for any business.
6)If you try and acquire quality names (one worders, lll's,llll's, etc. with .com extension primarily) you won't have to fish around too much for buyers, They will come to you.
7)Try and develop your domains into websites and put a for sale link on it, i've gotten several inquiries for some of my websites. you can too.

I'm looking for more ways myself to make some sales other than those right there because lately i've been a little unsuccessful selling domains for my desired prices.
Maybe it's the economy, maybe it's the quality of my names. One thing I definitely learned from my experience is that flipping domains is a slow hustle. if you stay patient though and shop around for good names and DEVELOP them, you'll eventually land a sale that will make up for all the names you own. Patience is key, don't look for fast money in this business b/c it won't happen.

You want fast money talk to dee-rugs he can help you out

The majority are not making good money. I think most are hedging their bets that it will pay off in the long run and that a huge sale will come their way or something similar.

So i guess , the reason underlies my sentence is just becuase of the sales of the first-comers in the game. They registered premium domains in 90s and selling them now with very good prices. The rest of the domainers are dealing with small amounts..

Hey! I'm from Boston also.

But here it is- there is tons of profit to be made and is being made. The thing is you have to stay ahead of the bell curve in a particular industry or trend. And if you do not have the "premium" 1st tier domains at hand then you go after them and quality 2nd tier domains or extensions, again, ahead of the curve before demand peaks. Domainers are making money whether they came in the game in the 90s or last week. Domaining is a system and like any system, once you know it's vibe and rhythm, profiting from said system becomes easier and easier.

I am sure people are making money, but not a satisifed money that will lead you to quit your job and do this domaining business in a more professional mode.

What i believe is, even there are many people are doing good money, i dont think the amount is enough to live wih that money.

I still wonder how much newcomers (meaning not the guys that regged domains in 90s) are making money.. I still looking the sites and following auctions, i am not really satisfied. Even the sold domains are not very good domains (i.e. qualitive), they are being sold. As I am going to repeat again, maybe it is because of recession..
