well, I am finally getting into the drop business.... and I was wondering.... which service gets you the highest chance of getting the name assuming all of them are being used on a particular name?

Pool.com (I know its very new and hard to tell)

Snaps

Namewinner

Enom Drop Club

any opinions on these... obviously, namewinner is the best deal for the lower tier names you can pick up for a few bucks....but are snaps better for the expensive domains? thanks guys, much appreciated :)

The only three I use:

1. SNAP. Easy interface, good features, ballsy performance
2. POOL. Early to tell, but so far so good. Major drawback is the bidding system for multiple reservations :(
3. GODADDY. Seems weak. Hopefully they will add steroids soon.

NW. Very powerful. Worth mentioning, but who wants to tip your hand to all your competitors? Who wants to bid? Not me!

ALL THE OTHERS. Not worth mentioning by name. All 95 lb weaklings as far as I can tell. Websites that were designed by a 2nd grader, or non-existent websites, or a straw for bandwidth when others are using a 10 ft diameter pipe, squirrels powering their servers, etc..

well, I am finally getting into the drop business

Guess it's never too late to start.

I would recommend Snap and Namewinner....oh and a prayer.

Private Drop clubs suck b/c they only can go after the top 5 names really despite false hopes of pre-ordered names which they never bother to go after. How do I know this? Let's just say i'm 0 for 3000 or so at like 6-7 clubs.

You really need the bandwidth and resources of buydomains to be effective really. So that puts you into the SOL category picking up scraps...

The short, blunt summary: If there's a name you REALLY REALLY want, you'd have to be an idiot not to use EVERY means still available to you!

I always get confused when I see threads asking: which is better, X or Y, when (apart from Snapnames) you only have to pay for success anyway, so why not use X and Y and Z and A and B and C etc.?

cyphix,

you don't like it, don't bid. plain and simple.

the guys who get names thru us on a regular basis aren't having a problem.

remember you came to us for acces, we didn't come to you.

Homey.... sorry if it sounded like I was singling out your service, it's just that your service is the only private drop club I currently use & if what clemzon says is true where you basically only try for the top names (or top bids) then that is what I was getting at, as in whats the point of bidding if your not trying to go after the name.

Guess you guys really don't just go after the top names.. I just have been unlucky so far. No worrys. ;)

cyphix,

he's wrong, at least with us, we chase every name on our list that has a bid. we don't have as many bids as NW or SNAP, but we have a fair amount, mostly the top shelf names. But to clear it up, we do chase every name on our list, from the 40.00 bids to the 20 grand bids. on sunday we had a good mix of names, ranging from doves.com to some lower names, and yesterday mid to lower names.
