Which is better .tv or .cc?

Hi

Can any of you folks (ideally from europe or,
specifically, the UK) give me your thoughts
on which is the better extension (.tv or .cc)?

I can't give out the name here, and the word
itself doesn't have any relationship or synergy
with either .tv or .cc.

Which one is the better ext'n in your view, or
do you not like either one?

(this would be from a customer POV, rather
than a domainer).

.tv works for television and that's about all. .cc works for credit cards and not much else. Don't try to force other generics on those extensions that don't work.

Doesn't sound like either extension is a good fit. However, .TV has better recognition overall among general public.

Yep, I absolutely need one of them; pretty sure
it will be the .tv.

The point about .cc and credit cards is well taken,
especially as this is a currency-type domain, but I
can not see it having much relevance where this
name is concerned.

Definitely .TV but unfortunately the price and then renewal fees is a major detterent

.TV by a landslide, if not for the renewal fee's.


CC is a niche market. It will get more popular in the next 2-4 years, and you will see decent returns on good keywords and maybe LLL or NNN if they go extinct soon.


Otherwise I wouldn't touch either. Anything really valuable in .TV means you can refinance your house to pay the renewal fee.

They both are not good, IMO. I just let a .TV (1 of 2) drop as the $49.95 Enom renewal fee was way too much even though it got traffic and earned almost $10/yr. With such a costly renewal it's a money loser even with a lot more traffic.

Not even worth posting it for sale as who wants to own a known liability with little chance of ever getting typein traffic even if it becomes a nice website. Same scenario if there are no registry price caps on info biz org's in the future.

Stocdoctor is right in that TV may work just for tv stations and CC only works for credit cards, assuming you get enough traffic to overcome the renewal fees.

Personally I stay away from both. But between the two I'd take TV over CC.

.tv only works if your site is related in some way to television, like a tv show or an ad on tv. I've bought some .cc but never bought a .tv yet

.CC is much better as compare to .TV becz .TV can be used only for Television whereas .CC can be used for any purpose

I like both .cc and .tv. They are easy to be remembered.
I would choose .cc over .tv because of .tv's pricing practice.
cc is being advertised in asia as comercial company or chinese company.
It is getting popular there.
An example:
A .cc website, wretch.cc, has an alexa ranking: 26th.
