Interesting that .US is currently running a strong 2nd to .com in this poll and is clobbering the established .net and .org extensions. .US definitely appears to be catching on with domain buyers. The poll confirms something I am seeing more and more in my daily domain searches; I often find the .US taken while the .net sits unclaimed.

Other= .bz(not really but I do own one)

I have Britain.bz I regged it because it was supposed to be one of the premium .bz's that Belizenic was holding and charging $500 for lol. Who ever was responsible for registering the premium names, registered britian.bz for hold. So I got Britain.bz for $30.

It's for sale if any of my UK counterparts are interested? hehe

I like .info... very versatile for anything informational in nature, without implying that it's commercial or noncommercial.

But mostly, I'd like to support anything but .COM... anything to bust people out of the unhealthy mindset that domain names are a flat namespace.

My preferences are for .INFO and .COM (equal firsts at this stage for me, as I believe .INFO will be at least the equal of .COM in the near future) followed by .NET (the established alternative international extension) and finally .US - purely for it's onomatopoeic qualities.

I like .us, not as much as .info, and I am not American.
I just see it as a good investment.

I believe .BIZ is a more rounded, robust and fine-tuned name for B2B setups than .COM, .INFO and .US, which suits me fine You need to be in for the long haul on these new extensions.

As far as ccTLD's go Dot US is a good investment, there is no doubt about that. I've hedged my own portfolio with some dot us names (for development purposes). HOWEVER....

Don't buy Dot US because everyone here seems to be. Do it because the Dot US name you are thinking of buying would be better than the dot com version. Example:

DO NOT Buy 2nd rate dot US names such as SupplyMarketersR.US

If it's available and you're thinking about developing the name, no problem, but to buy it for "investment" purposes... You might as well get the '.com'

As new TLDs com out there are certain to be more "favourites"... Only buy the best, most liquid names. Made up names, or 2nd tier names in the new TLDs will continue to pile up and be "plentiful", if you catch my drift.

My personal preference for TLDs btw are in this order: 1) .COM 2) .BIZ 3).US
