there's a lot of good blogs there run by a lot of good people
shame only one vote as will come down to just a couple of people getting main share of votes
I'll nail my colours to mast
Shane got my vote as I think his out and out the best. I appreciate his real world business knowledge and his humour.
Humour is a big thing for me and life.
Rick, Theo and Shane make me laugh out loud regularly.
I thank them for that :)
btw TorontoDomainer, your blog is coming on very well
I thought your blog was better when you were shooting from hip and giving open views on stuff
I remember you had some problems from online trolls and that seemed to affect you
f u c k them, and do your own thing dude

merry xmas

I like a lot of your blogs, they all differ in content. That's why I visit Domaining and can read the newest title and snippet before browsing on over. All of you keep up the good work. :)

Happy Holidays :)

You too. :) Right now preparing for 3 days of New Years (partying)... Japanese thing.

Btw, this thread reminds me of those "top 100" sites where everyone had a "vote" banner the size of your CRT monitor * 50 ... and no content. What happened to the 90s?

Though I do love the subtropical climate and welcoming people of.Okinawa, both my wife and I would love to retire in Victoria, BC. It's clean and safe as it is here, though there are more than three seasons: extremely hot, cold/rainy or typhoon.

Didn't mean to threadjack, but pursue what you love to do.

i'm not a blog reader on the regular

so i have no loyalties or ties.

but still i voted... for one who i thought, opened the most eyes.

:)

BTW: cure cancer, i ain't feeling your introductory "hypothesis", as you lead in with a negative viewpoint towards the industry, as a "majority portray us as cybersquatters".

freely using such labels as 'black hat domainers'

what's that about?

also, will the future of the domain community, really be shaped by 'domainer blogs'?

though i know they have a lot of influence on the masses, i truly hope that never happens.

Good Luck with the voting!

This might not be the thread to discuss it, but it's a "hypothesis" I agree with.. I DO think the majority of people portray domainers as cybersquatters, In conversation alone, almost every time the subject of domains comes up, domain sellers are referred to as cybersquatters... I went to a tile store a few weeks back and the salesman I've bought from before was talking about his girlfriend who works at a hotel, and that the hotel bought a domain from a "cybersquatter" who was using their hotel name (with city), Needless to say, I didn't argue with him because in that instance he was right. The media stereotypes domainers as cybersquatters as well, we hear about it almost every time theirs a tragedy.

It's a stigma we need to try and erase and by bringing attention and awareness to it, that is not a negative, it's a positive.

i'm not saying that's it's not an issue, just that it's the "lead-in"

and without a more elaborate explanation around that point alone, as you did, to the "uninitiated' ...that's a first impression.

:)

I recently started reading a certain blog, one who's founders bio reads:

Unlike most people in this industry, I don’t make my living by flipping domains or developing mini-sites...I love figuring things out and am a lifelong learner.

and

– to provide more useful resources every day.

I like that sensibility, the humility, and the opportunity to actually learn something new and read about other writer's ventures and adventures.
