I was looking up some names, and danged if I don't have a match for this one. Anyone know who this is (as in, if someone had a name here, where would they go to manage it, or who would they SEE to complain to if there's a problem)?

VERISIGN .US REGISTRARS, INC.

I see a few instances on the web, but I can't make rhyme or reason of it yet. Whether its some sunrise thing or another name for Network Solutions... or possibly a conglomerative name for all of Verisign's registrars like: SRSplus, Network Solutions, etc, etc.

Not anymore... looks like Verisign let the name drop in January 2004... I think I even remember people commenting on this oddity back then. As noted in my post above, the domain name is actually pointed to by the official .US registrar list. How Verisign got Nissin Foods to bite at UFO.us as a corporate brand issue, I'll never know.

From the .US whois technical info on UFO.us, it seems that the domain name is managed by Verisign's corporate brand management (which can't keep track of Verisign's own names, apparently), under the domain "IDNames.com" which doesn't have a functional website... only an e-mail address. Very freakish stuff, imo. I can understand how a corporate service only has telephone support, but still, very odd.
