Who Really Knows?
I go against all the "rules" here for buying domain names. I get super long names (3-4 words my norm), often with hyphens and always a .org or .net. In the appraisal section, my names always get no response, 0 or "reg fee" values.

For instance, I offer up my watch-videos.net, a name everyone here said was a dog. And I agree. What's to like? But somehow, someway...well, here are its last 6-month stats at parked.com:
Domain Name Clicks Revenue
watch-videos.net 2,751 $196.75

And I'll share these few more examples of modest parking successes.
Domain Name Clicks Revenue (6-month parking stats)
stateboardofequalization.org 184 $209.58
equalemploymentopportunitycommission.org 61 $194.58
officeofpersonnelmanagement.org 67 $41.82
internetadvertisingbureau.org 29 $36.44
laketaho.net 48 $34.95
whosis.org 93 $26.17
pokeron-line.org 2 $22.72

And now I'm retired on my PPC income, on stuff everyone says not to buy. Go figure.
Just wanted to share. Food for thought.

And thank you for reading.

When we appraise a domain name...we appraise based on the domain name. Not based on the traffic. We have no way of knowing the traffic.

You are correct of course. The title should just be Who Really Knows? It isn't about name value but my personal experience.
And thank you.

Exactly. When posting a domain name for appraisal it is appraised from monetary value alone, if you want the traffic taken into consideration....say so.

seriously I'd never believe these names get type in traffic, still can't.. just doesn't make sense.

stateboardofequalization.org 184 $209.58
equalemploymentopportunitycommission.org 61 $194.58
officeofpersonnelmanagement.org 67 $41.82

Well done though, if you found something that works for you, stick to it and don't listen to what others say

Are you sure you aren't looking at RPM?
Why did you select these names?
Were they drops or did you register them?
Domains with Link traffic are the hardest to appraise.

If you post your domain for appraisal and include all the traffic or any other useful info, I am sure you will get a more accurate appraisal value for your domain.

If they are long keyword terms or govt depts they can get some typeins. Many people think govt agencies use the .org extension so they type it in, often instead of the .com or .gov.

Domains with Link traffic are the hardest to appraise.

These amounts are my actual earnings on these names (but for the last 6-month period). I just wanted to give a few modest examples. I agree it is pretty far out though. Amazing really.
I've just discovered a few tricks with parking that pay quite handsomely. These types of groups seem to do well, & .org fits them perfectly. And per your inquiry, I only hand-register.

& I appreciate all the kind words. Thank you.

Well done bro.

However, what does a "dog domain" mean?
