I scour eBay pretty regularly looking for good names & also high dollar sales. If you can get past all the blatant TM infringers & dead celebrity domains, occasionally you can find some gems.

Check out these recent sales from a single seller!

The seller has a few others still in auction, so check back & chime in!

Cheers DNFers!

The seller is Mark Madsen, the former NBA player. I won an auction and was kind of surprised by the shipping charge. I had not even looked as I have never heard of a shipping charge for a domain.

For sure. You will most likely get higher prices on there. Plus, you can dump a lot of your domains on there that won't sell on here. Start them low and let them roll.

I hope he included an autographed picture at least.

I hear ya, I was pretty surprised to see the shipping charges too. I was even more surprised when some were higher than others. I think there were some Damn nice names for the prices, but I also believe he got more for a few of them than he may have gotten here. Ever noticed that when there's a great name in the "make offer" forum here, sometimes there are no offers? Sometimes I think that buyers might be afraid to make an offer for fear of insulting the value of the name. I guess you just never know.

I sent him an inquiry for 1 of them for a bin price, but he said he wanted the market to determine the value, but if you notice the domains on the lower end of the list, (priced at .50 each) those were ALL listed, & then ended early. I think he may have sold a few outside from offers, either or he had second thoughts. I did notice that some of the names doubled in price within the last few hours of the auctions as most do on eBay.

I bid on some before I noticed the shipping fee. $10/$20 for shipping a freaking domain? Pretty ridiculous IMO.
I have never heard of anyone charging a shipping fee on a domain name and it is not something you would even look at before bidding.

I won two domains and now have to pay $30 in shipping I guess...

I'm sure they were good ones Brad - Good luck with them!

That happened to me once - so I emailed the seller & asked if it might be a mistake in the listing (some sellers reuse templates & don't always correct the info) and the dude got super PISSED & seemed insulted by it.

I don't normally look for shipping costs on domains either, but some sellers will sneak them in there just in case the bids don't take off.

Just consider the shipping charge part of the initial bid, if the shipping makes the price too high then don't bid. Shows how you have to read everything carefully when bidding an auction. Listing something for $10 with a $20 shipping charge will get more bids and interest than listing it at $30 with no shipping fee.

I am surprised an NBA'er is selling domains on eBay, but he is getting good coin for them.

I wouldn't say that the names sold at bargain prices, in spite of being listed on ebay.
I never purchase domains on ebay, it's total clutter. There might a jewel in the rough here and there but time is money.

I agree that there is a lot of clutter.

I have a search technique that filters out most of the crap.

Search for Domain Names with 1 or more bids priced at 9.99 or more.

I get email lists daily & have wound up winning a few good domains that way.

I've also found a few sellers that deal in good quality domains.
